Mila Oiva (PhD) is a Cultural Historian working as a Senior Research Fellow at ERA Chair for Cultural Data Analytics (CUDAN) and the School of Humanities in Tallinn University. Her research interests are long-term entanglement of human knowledge, circulation of knowledge and uses of different communication tools from past to the present. She is involved in projects studying the phenomenon through the 19th century global news flows, representations of the world in the 20th century newsreels, and contemporary dissemination of fake historical knowledge in the online environment. She was a visiting Fulbright scholar at the Institute of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ISEEES) at UC Berkeley, and participated in the Culture Analytics long program at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA.
