SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP INCUBATOR

Applications open for Autumn 2022!

In the Social Enterprise Incubator, your team will be able to make your organization investment-ready through a series of workshops accompanied by individual expert mentoring for each team. The program will focus on transitioning from testing the idea to scaling up the business, developing long-term impact and funding strategies as well as managing the growth process. 

Who is welcome to apply?

  • The idea/enterprise solves a social, educational, health or environmental problem

  • The main product or service of the enterprise has already been developed (and preferably tested) to some extent

  • The idea/enterprise is able to earn its own income. You will be able to develop this further, but there should be an initial plan of ​​how the idea/venture will be funded.

  • A team of 2-3 members is required to participate in the incubation program.

What will you get?

  • Individual expert mentoring

  • Develop an impact and sustainability strategy

  • Meet investors, pitch your idea and, depending on your progress, reach a real financing agreement

Erkki is Social Enterprise Estonia board member, trainer, youth advocate. He has also been a leader of Changemakers for more than five years, and has organized more than 30 events as part of Changemakers' activities, one with more than 300 participants. Changemakers has received 9 different awards for its activities (e.g. the 2019 Achievement of the Year by the Ministry of Education and the 2019 Inspirer of the Year by the NGO Association). Erkki has trained social entrepreneurs, he is the author of the book White Belt in Marketing and Sales". Erkki holds a Master's degree in Communication Management from the University of Tartu and has studied Public Administration and Political Science at Tallinn University of Technology.

Anu Arnover is a client executive in Corporate Banking department in SEB Pank and has been working in SEB group ca 25 years in different positions and departments. In her todays position she is happy to help Estonian customers to great value to their employees, owners and Estonian economy. In SEB we follow very carefully high ESG standards and educate also our customers, the advisory is very important in my work. She has studied financial analyses and that helps her to understand the companies financing needs. She is passionate about economy and environment and is happy to share that knowledge with you.

Jaan Aps leads a social impact management consulting company Stories For Impact, helping to achieve and measure impacts related to human well-being and personal development. Jaan has taught at an international MA Programme of Social Entrepreneurship at Tallinn University as a guest lecturer since its inception in 2018. Previously, he was a co-founder and CEO of the Estonian Social Enterprise Network (2012-2019). Jaan is a popular public speaker and trainer who has stood in front of thousands of people in Estonia and internationally.

In 2013 he founded The Skill Mill, a social enterprise dedicated to young people involved in the criminal justice system. The organisation which he still leads has grown across England and received numerous accolades including 2 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in 2021. David teaches a range of topics relating to the development and management of Social Enterprise on the MA programme and draws from his first hand experience of achieving success in both the development and bringing to scale of an impactful organisation.

Merili is a member of the Social Enterprise Estonia board, communications manager and marketing mentor for social enterprises. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Tartu and is currently obtaining a Master's Degree in Marketing from the University of Tartu. Previously, Merili has been in charge of the charity project "Our Contribution" for 3 years, which raised nearly 100 000 euros for children suffering from type 1 diabetes. She is one of the authors of the book "White Belt in Marketing and Sales". Meril also has extensive experience in event organization and marketing. She has organized a children's song festival in Tartu Town Hall Square with over 400 people and was one of the organizers of three 24-hour Facebook live broadcasts with over 90 people in total. Merili's activities have won her more than 10 awards (e.g. Outstanding Young Estonian 2019 nominee, Estonia's Most Influential Young #14 2017, Good Rolemodel 2015).

David teaches a range of topics relating to the development and management of Social Enterprise on the MA programme and draws from his first hand experience of achieving success in both the development and bringing to scale of an impactful organisation.

Eliisa has diverse leadership experience from managing and developing different organisations both on local and international level. For the past 3 years, her focus has been on impact - what kind of value organisations create and how to measure it. Currently her main activities include supporting the development of social enterprises in Estonia, as well as raising awareness and knowledge about social entrepreneurship among young adults.

Katri-Liis is Head of the Social Entrepreneurship MA Program at Tallinn University. She is a board member of The Skill Mill Limited – an award-winning Social Enterprise dedicated to the employment of young ex-offenders by providing environmental maintenance services in the UK using Social Impact Bonds. She has extensive experience in development of social enterprises and management of international projects. You can ask her about how to build a business with a conscience.

Audrone is a lecturer of social entrepreneurship at Tallinn University. Her PhD thesis was on the social-impact assessment of work integration social enterprises in Baltic states. Audrone’s researching interests are social enterprise, social impact and social impact assessment. She is a member of EMES – an international research network for social enterprises.
